AFSCME Day On The Hill - February 26

Thanks to AFSCME Council 5’s activism on Election Day on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, we toppled the anti-AFSCME, anti-union, anti-working families Republican majorities and elected a pro-working families DFL majority in both houses of our state legislature (as well as defeating both proposed constitutional amendments and taking back the 8th congressional district). For the first time in 22 years since 1990 with Governor Perpich we have a DFL Governor with DFL majorities in both houses of the state legislature. We are finally ready to roll on a progressive, working families agenda to raise revenue fairly by raising taxes on the richest Minnesotans and big corporations to invest in the vital public services we provide.

But we need to make sure that agenda is pushed by the Governor and passed by the legislature. We will get more out of the upcoming state budget session by having as many of our members as possible show up at the Capitol at DOTH!

DOTH 2013 will start and end at our location for the last several years, the Crowne Plaza St. Paul Riverfront, 11 E. Kellogg Blvd, St. Paul MN 55101 (888-565-6152 or 651-292-1900).
